Microsoft announces Surface tablet computer

Microsoft held an intimate gathering for the press this evening in Los Angeles to announce its latest hardware venture, the Surface tablet, an official Microsoft branded product designed from the ground up for Windows 8. Surface features a 10.6" ClearType Full HD display, as well as full sized USB ports and HDMI output. Microsoft also showed off the Type Cover, a screen protector that features a full laptop style keyboard and track pad, expected to launch alongside Surface.



Microsoft has announced two Surface models so far, one for Windows RT, the other for Windows 8 Pro.

Microsoft has yet to include pricing or a launch window but here's a brief video showing off its new unit.

  1. Is it true that the pro version of the Microsoft surface tablet pc uses Nvidia Tegra 3 GPU? because on other sources I've read about it but not sure if it's been confirmed or not.
